What is AM Perspectives?

Most people assume the “AM” is just a time of day, but it’s actually simpler than that: Andy McClung’s Perspectives. This site is my digital home. It’s where I share my vision for what the web should be… fast, uncluttered, and useful. After years of researching web design practices and testing every “shiny new thing” that comes along, I’ve distilled my findings into a specific way of building.

When you work with me, you aren’t just getting a website; you’re getting my perspective on how to build the best possible version of your business online.

From Flight Lines to Front-End

I’m 43, and I’ve spent my life making sure complex systems don’t fail.

In the U.S. Air Force, I worked as an Electrical and Environmental specialist. My job was to ensure the systems on F-16s and C-130 gunships were perfect. When you’re dealing with aircraft, “close enough” isn’t an option. I spent two years living in Germany during that time, which gave me a pretty broad view of how the world (and technology) connects us all.

After the military, I spent 15 years in hospitality at a family-run church retreat center. That’s where I learned the “people” side of things. I realized that tech is useless if it isn’t serving people and making their lives easier.

The “Bowling Green” Life

While I’m originally from Hendersonville, TN, I’ve called Bowling Green, KY home for a long time now. When I’m not tweaking code or helping a client with a site update, you can usually find me:

  • Enjoying Family Time: I’m a husband and a dad to two sons who keep me on my toes.
  • Tinkering: Whether it’s 3D printing a new gadget or upgrading my PC, I never really stopped being a geek.
  • Gaming: I’ve got a soft spot for the classics (and the new stuff, too).
  • Coaching: I’m currently coaching basketball for my the teams my sons play on and love it!

My Philosophy

I build websites for small businesses because I enjoy the partnership. I’m not a “jargon-spitting salesman” looking for a quick check. I’m a researcher, a veteran, and a tinkerer who genuinely loves the craft of web design.

I fully manage my clients’ sites so they can stop worrying about “updates” or “security” and get back to doing what they love.
