Case Study: Wildfire BBQ | Fast, Local Web Design in Franklin, KY
The Client
Jeff, the owner of Wildfire BBQ in Franklin, Kentucky, loves making barbecue. He takes pride in doing it well, and that care shows up in the way he runs the business.
He is known around Franklin and Bowling Green as someone who knows his way around a smoker and a grill.
I’ve been working with Jeff since March 2012, so this has never been a one-and-done website project. We’ve gone through more than one version of the site as the restaurant and its needs have changed.
The Objective
Jeff wanted a website that made the important things simple:
- Help local customers find the menu from a phone or computer.
- Make it easy for people to call in an order.
- Give nearby businesses a quick way to place lunchtime orders.
- Provide directions to the restaurant.
- Keep the site easy for a local business owner to update quickly.
When someone is trying to decide where lunch is coming from, they should not have to fight with a slow website or search through a cluttered page to find the menu and phone number.
The AM Perspectives Solution
Over the years, I’ve worked with Jeff through several rounds of revisions. The current site is an ultra-fast static website designed around the way Wildfire’s customers actually use it.
The menu is easy to reach on both mobile devices and desktop computers. Customers can quickly review their options, call the restaurant, and get directions without digging through unnecessary pages. The site also gives Jeff a local person he can contact when something needs to change.
That direct support matters. Jeff can call, text, or email me when he needs an update, and I can take care of it without sending him into a dashboard or making him wait on a large support queue.
The Result
Wildfire BBQ now has a fast, focused website that supports the everyday decisions its customers are making:
- Quick menu access: Customers can find what they came for from a phone or computer.
- A simpler ordering path: The site helps people review the menu and call in their order quickly.
- Easy directions: New and returning customers can find the restaurant without searching around.
- A dependable foundation: The static site loads quickly and works well across mobile and desktop devices.
- Local, ongoing support: Jeff has direct access to the person who manages the site.
The technology is important, but the best part of this project is the long-term partnership behind it. Wildfire BBQ has a website that works for the business today, and Jeff has someone local who can help when the business changes tomorrow.
If your restaurant’s website is slow, hard to update, or makes customers work too hard to find the menu, I can help you build a faster and more useful online home.
